- uhh, 2.5" IDE Drives have 44 pins and 3.5" IDE Drives have 40 pins.
-
- The A1200 has a 44 pin connector, which is meant for 2.5" Drives...
- The red wire is the one that must be connected to pin 1 of the drive and pin 1
- of the Amiga IDE-connector:
-
-
- ----- backside of the A1200 -------------------
-
- <-- pin 44 side [floppy drive]

- ::
- <-- pin 1 side
-
-
- [ROM] [expansion]
- [ROM]
-
- [ keyboard side ]
-
- ----- frontside of the A1200 ------------------
-
- But if you have an 3.5" Drive the pins 41-44 must be left empty (these are
- supply pins).
-
- 3.5" also have a seperate supply connection, 4 pins :

- [IDE] | o o o o |

- P | | |
- I | | |___ pin 2 GND
- N | |
- | |_____ pin 3 GND
- 1 |
- |_______ pin 4 +5V
-
-
- These must be connected to the floppy supply connection (with a splitter).
